BIOGRAPHY

Carol Lipton, a native of New Jersey USA, discovered two passions in her early teens : fashion design and Paris. After studying fashion at Parson's School of Design in New York and a brief stint in the garment center, she launched her handbag company, Two Cat Family, in 1980. She relocated to Paris in 1983 where she continued to produce the line for another three years.

She then spent two years as a fashion journalist, covering the Paris runway shows, street fashions and club scene for American trade magazines before returning to handbags as a freelance designer. Over the next 14 years, her clients included Louis Vuitton, Sonia Rykiel, Thierry Mugler, Daniel Hechter, Valextra, Isotoner, Lamarthe, Asprey, Coach, Delsey, Renoma and Courrèges. In 2001 she began consulting on leather and material trends for clients such as Henri Bendel in New York and Aikawa in Tokyo and made frequent trips to Italy.

Having sidelined as a fashion translator for Paris trend offices since 1990, she dedicated herself entirely to this metier as of 2008 to accomodate a passion for traveling and various creative projects. She also teaches at LISAA, Paris in the interior design department.
